Chevy Chase Geeks came to my house to pick up the laptop and it was repaired by the next day and brought back to me at home. In addition to repairing the battery, they checked over the entire laptop to make sure it was optimally running. After googling what to do, I force quit but then was not able to get back on. Having remembered reading about Chevy Chase Geeks on the neighborhood list serve over the years I called them. Yohay answered my call right away and we scheduled an appointment at my house for the next morning. He arrived on time and proceeded to get my computer back up. I had accumulated a list of other computer questions that he went through with me, very patiently and slowly so that I was able to process it all. He even taught me a few "tricks" that he suggested might be helpful with the project I've been working on. He made some recommendations for the future that I will follow through with. Beyond that, terrific customer service: Responsive, honest, patient, great prices, good advice, and a delightful guy, to boot. He worked hard to repair my printer only to learn it had an unfixable software defect and had to be returned to HP. I am skeptical and cautious by nature, and when I dropped off my computer at Yohay's home, not an office, I felt uncertain. My hesitation turned out to be unwarranted. Yohay was very professional and communicative about the work he was doing, gave me status reports, installed the part that was needed, and did a nice cleanup of the hard drive. He got things up and running again and his prices are very reasonable. Because there was a delay in getting the part, Yohay personally delivered the computer to my home at no charge. Additionally, the next day I encountered an unrelated problem and Yohay talked me through the steps over the phone to resolve the issue! I ran a disk repair on my laptop to discover I had several bad clusters on the disk. Called Yohay on Saturday. Dropped it off to him that morning. He diagnosed the problem that afternoon. To my surprise I was able to schedule and have an appointment with him that afternoon. Yohay stopped by my residence that afternoon and diagnosed and confirmed that I had a defective video card in my desktop computer. After purchasing a video card that he recommended, I was able to drop off my computer at his place a couple days later. The next day Yohay informed me that my computer was fixed and ready for pickup. Not only did Yohay fix my video problem, but he also formatted and installed a fresh copy of windows 10 at an agreed upon price and recommendation. I didn’t want to lose valuable files from my hard drive, so I found Chevy Chase Geeks through a quick google search. They have retrieved data from corrupted drives. And they have installed new hard drives and memory to extend the life of working computers. The work and the service are consistently excellent. And Yohay is professional and pleasant to deal with. I previously used the Apple Genius Bar in Bethesda when I needed help with a computer that was acting up, but the service is far faster and consistently better with Chevy Chase Geeks.Posted on Google

So I figured it is important for me to write yelp about a business when all of those factors are present. They servicing at your location which is great, Yohay the owner is a no nonsense and comes to the heart of the matter for you in the matter of what necessities to happen, what the issues may be and follows up on what he says or guarantees. Extremely proficient and to the point with a special reward of a human touch, not just another salary employee at Best Buy where u are just another number. Yohay came over Friday morning. very polite and very professional. I instantly felt confidence. my computer crushed, I had a corrupted hard drive, needed to be replaced and recover files, he explain it's a few hours process and it's better and cost effective to do it off site, He had the laptop back here early Saturday afternoon. Ahead of schedule with a new hard drive in and fully recovered. This guy is really good and very nice. My 3 year old out-of-warranty Dell Alienware laptop was dead. Like, not getting past the POST, just beeping insanely. First I called Alienware and they quoted me a standard fee of $430 to replace the LCD and video controller, which would have required shipping the machine to who knows where and probably I would have been out of action for some time. Looked for a local repair outfit and called CCG. Was not disappointed. Technician seemed familiar with the model and and the specific problem. The machine was picked up from my house and CCG ordered the part etc. While that was happening, my alternate computer, a MacBook Pro, had a swelling battery that really needed to be replaced. I called CCG again and he said he would order the part and bring it to my house for installation. I was super impressed that CCG could turn all of this around in a week and I never had to leave my house. The Mac battery was replaced on-site while my other PC was being returned. The whole affair was concluded at a reasonable price and, I think, a very quick turnaround time considering that parts had to be ordered. Overall very happy and would recommend for laptop/desktop repairs. If anything could be improved, maybe the estimated cost/rate could have been communicated via written quote.Posted on Yelp

I always had good experiences with Chevy Chase Geek and I have been a customer for over 2 years. Chevy Chase Geek's Owner, Mr. Yohay Korkos is very knowledgeable on what he does and is been working with computers for nearly 20 years.He likes to help the community and neighbors sometimes with no charge. He has an young male working part time at the shop mostly on Mondays, who was given the opportunity to work as part of his rehabilitation with Autism. Mr Korkos not only is giving this young man the opportunity to build responsibility but also is giving him the opportunity to work and get pay for his effort. Mr. Korkos business is one of the very few that gives the neighborhood's public server (Police Officers and Fire Dept.) the opportunity to come in and use the facilities as a shelter during inclement weather, bathroom and drink water. It had been sitting in my closet for 3 months and had my entire life on it. I brought it into Best Buy and they told me that it would be $300 to fix it and they said I would probably lose all my files. For a computer that was not much more than $500 new and was 5 years old, this seemed like a pretty serious rip off to me. So I sadly put it away and figured I would save it until I had enough money to buy a new computer and have the files transferred. A couple weeks ago my boss came into the office and asked me to take her computer in to Chevy Chase Geeks bc it was infected with a virus. I took it in and dropped it off to the very friendly gentleman at the front desk. He called me an hour later and told me the computer was ready to be picked up...and when I got there he told me it was a flat fee of $79 for virus removal. I was shocked. I explained to him that I had a computer with a deep, evil infection and asked him to take a look. I brought my computer in the next week and within a day he called me back and told me that the virus was pretty deep in there, but he was able to remove it with no damage to the computer, my files, or the systems. I asked how much and he said $79. I am so grateful to have my computer back for minimal cost and to have an honest and reasonable computer technician in the area.
